Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how LWR Technologies, Inc. d/b/a Kontracks ("we", "us") uses cookies, local storage, and similar tracking technologies on the Kontracks marketing website (kontracks.com), the Kontracks web application, and customer-facing public links (such as proposal e-signature pages, payment links, and intake forms) operated on behalf of Tenant Businesses. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
A "cookie" is a small text file stored in your browser by a website. Cookies allow a site to remember you between visits or page navigations. "Local storage" and "session storage" are related browser features used for the same purposes. Other similar technologies include pixel tags, web beacons, and SDKs used inside our mobile applications.
2. What we use them for
Kontracks uses these technologies for the following purposes:
- Strictly necessary. Required to operate the Service — authentication, session continuity, fraud prevention, security tokens, and load balancing. Without these, the Service does not function.
- Functional / preference. Remember preferences you set, such as table column layouts, theme mode, last-used filters, and which step of a multi-step flow you completed.
- Performance / analytics. Help us understand which features are used so we can prioritize improvements. We do not use third-party advertising analytics on the Kontracks application; product analytics is limited to first-party data.
- Email and SMS tracking. Emails and SMS sent on behalf of a Tenant Business may contain tracking pixels or click-tracking links so the Tenant Business can see whether the recipient opened or clicked the message. The tracking is performed under the consent the recipient gave the Tenant Business and is described in our Privacy Policy.
3. Categories of cookies on Kontracks properties
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| kontracks_session | Maintains your authenticated session on the application. | Strictly necessary | Session or up to 30 days |
| kontracks_csrf | Cross-site request forgery token tied to your session. | Strictly necessary | Session |
| kontracks_lb | Routes you to a consistent backend instance for the duration of a request batch. | Strictly necessary | Session |
| kontracks_prefs | Stores your UI preferences (table sort order, density, theme). | Functional | 1 year |
| kontracks_tenant | Remembers the last tenant workspace selected if you have access to more than one. | Functional | 180 days |
| _vercel_* | First-party load-balancing and analytics issued by our hosting provider. | Strictly necessary / Analytics | Up to 1 year |
The cookie inventory above reflects the cookies currently in use. We do not set advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising cookies. We do not sell, share, or otherwise transfer cookie data to third parties for advertising.
4. Local storage and session storage
The application uses browser local storage to cache feature flags, last-known preferences, and large UI state objects (such as in-progress proposal drafts) so the editor can recover after a refresh. This data does not leave your browser unless you explicitly save it through the Service.
5. Mobile applications
Our iPhone field application uses the platform's standard secure-storage facilities to store authentication tokens. It does not use any third-party advertising or analytics SDK. It does not track you across other apps or websites.
6. How to manage cookies
Most browsers let you (a) view and delete existing cookies, (b) block third-party cookies, and (c) refuse cookies altogether. Refusing strictly necessary cookies will prevent the Service from functioning. Refer to your browser's help center for details:
7. EU / UK consent
If you visit the Kontracks marketing website or a customer-facing public link from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will be presented with a consent banner before any non-strictly-necessary cookie is set. You can change your choice at any time through the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of those pages.
8. Do Not Track
Kontracks does not respond to Do Not Track signals in browsers, because there is no consistent industry standard for how to interpret them. Kontracks does, however, honor the Global Privacy Control signal where applicable U.S. state law requires it, as further described in the California Privacy Notice.
9. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
